I haven’t posted for awhile due to exposure of my blog… as of now it is set on private to cool down my peers until they eventually forget about it…. Hopefully I would move to the domain that alvin gave to me…

it’s the 2nd week of February….

Events pop up one after the other: ERG Cup, EEE days, UP Fair and Valentine’s Day…

Exams come and go too: ECE151, CoE115, ECE113, ECE157 and ECE117….

And some other activities is bothering me: MADC!!!!

but the saddest part is I’m pretty empty… alvin is uber busy… but I can’t blame him, he is loaded every week!

cute nagisa.. x(

I’m also depressed of the events that are turning out in Clannad After Story… Yes, Nagisa already died and I cried so so much…. Episode 16 and 17 was a heart breaker!!!!!!

Anyhoo, I hope this week will be okey… Pre-Valentine’s Syndrome is setting in me… Maybe because I’m scared of what might happen… although I shouldn’t expect much from his busy schedule, I can’t help myself…. How silly of me…

BTW. CoE115’s 3rd Machine Problem is communicating with the GSM Module via UART of the z8 Encore! uC…. The thought is very difficult to grasp…. I can’t seem to fit it in the code… But after this, we would have built a working cellphone without the games, video, camera and voice applications.. Haha!!!

Last week was Molave week.. sadly, I didn’t participate much except watching Mutya ng Molave (funny.. )

And last saturday it was Nikki’s Birthday treat in Eastwood…. I have to say, the food was very purifying… go Vietnamese food Spring Rolls and Yummy noodles! I also love the ice cream… i heart dairy queen!

This anime is one of my favourite anime so far! It had all the things that I wanted in an anime series! here are some points that makes Shakugan no Shana a great Anime.

1. Flaming hair and Blazing red eyes Shana. Shana’s character was well built. She is cute but clueless, strong but vulnerable. This anime supports female domination.. She’s the best heroine for me.

2. The plot/storyline made it interesting to watch. It is not your anime that has a number of villains that must be fought every other episode or like a tournament of such. It has a STORY. There are lot of secrets unfolded and the transition of every episode were balanced.

3. The battle scenes were absolutely spectacular. Well executed. Hands Down.

4. The romance was very much felt. The development of the Love Triangle excites me. There are few action-packed anime series that shows this much of romance.

5. The music. The tune of opening song of both I and II is still stuck in my head.

Comments on the 1st season:

It was perfect. When it came to the transition of the plot this was better than the 2nd. Although Shana is sometimes exaggerated but it is still bearable… The last few episodes were a tearjerker…

Comments on the 2nd season:

This had a slow start but came off great in the end. One of my favourite scene was when they were battling Sabrac. The effects and music combined together was truly amazing. I was a little confused on Silver but came to understand it in the end. I am happy that they gave more exposure to Wilhelmina. She was great.

I really hope there is a third season. The villains are still there and there are still questions needed to be answered.

to my surprise, one of my most loved anime is now up and running since October 2 and is now in its Second Episode! OMG, I must download.. as in now…

I’m lost of words… I am just excited to watch and see what’s going to happen this season and hope that Nagisa will stay alive for awhile… (yep.. haven’t watched the movie yet but knew she died…aww shucks.. it broke my heart)

I’m really expecting a lot from this season since the first one was fun to watch and at the same time so touching…Well, by the main plot of the second season and as you can see at the picture at the left, It will be a heart breaking, wanna-hug-my-pillow kind of story.. aww shucks…It makes me miss my dadi so much..

Wow, I’m really a light-hearted person (filipino term: mababaw) and watching these kinds of shows really makes my day.. I just can’t hide my excitement ^_^

the end of the world, is doused in a color of sorrow…

sigh..:).. I am not doing productive in my academics since I knew about this! sigh.. I have to focus before I enjoy watching my anime..

so til next time..

Finally I have finished watching the sweet, heart warming, slice of life anime that got a great score on every anime review… Before I watched this, I noticed a lot of good comments from different blogs about this romantic series and I have to give them credit, they were right in recommending this anime. The characters were generic but the art was cute and is just fit for the series.. As usual, the leading man in the name of Tomoyo is a delinquent high school student that actually had a soft heart as the series progresses. While the leading lady would be the childish and weak Nagisaki which will garner confidence and strength because of her friends as she follow her dreams. Both of them will meet other heroines which have conflict of their own. It does sound common but the stories of the different female characters were very emotional making you want to hug your pillow and shed a tear. One big feature of this series would be it’s great blend of comedy and drama.. the comedy part was very hilarious especially the pranks Tomoyo deliver. The storyline of the series mainly pointed out the importance of family and friends and how we get strength from them. The point was cliche but the series still delivered well.

Although there was moments when I misconceptualized the scenes of the junk robot and the girl in the deserted world, I thought there were more supernatural events soon to unfold which involves Nagasaki and Tomoyo but in the end really never happened… I may have thought too deeply with my imagination..

Well, I’m looking forward with the next season: Clannad, the after story… I’m excited to see what’s in store for the characters. Clannad is a great relaxing series everybody should watch..Compared to Air (same producers of Clannad), Clannad was better in terms of the plot and comedy.. AIR was somewhat difficult to understand but was a hell of a tearjerker on the last part…. I’m attempting to watch Kanon due to its similarity with Clannad, I wonder which would be better?

I am very curious why Ouran High School Host Club is so popular. I’ve seen a couple of episodes but didn’t think of continuing it further. Yes, so it does have a unique theme with the concept of “girl thought to be as boy” plot but elsewhere its some sort of wacko series that keeps repeating scenes but just in a different background (example: the neverending sweetness of the twins). As far as I remember, I endured 13 episodes before giving up for searching the secret ingredient why it is so popular. Don’t think of me of someone very stone-hearted, in fact, I very much enjoy light animes like Love Hina, Fruit Basket, etc. I kind of figured the Taiwanese(? not sure) tv series, Hana Kimi, influenced the likeness of the anime but for me it was so irritating. I can approximate that almost 1/3 of the an episode is the character’s admiration of themselves, 1/3 girls screaming adoring the hosts and 1/3 story.. speaking of story, there is no sense in the story. I can’t get anything from it, there is no continuation whatsoever making me least intrigued for the next episode. I’m sorry for constantly dishing the series but is there any unfolding secret that will excite me to watch the next episodes? Or is it really that kind of “sailor moon type” of anime that wastes golden time for redundant lines and scenes? Maybe I’m just not a fan of men adoring themselves too much or men that are so gay and vain… It was even unusual that I didn’t favor any men character because they are all completely gay!!! As for the female characters, oh wait, theres only one.. geez.. and he has short hair too.. >_< The drawing is not even great! They don’t have noses and have emotionless eyes!!!

Bottom line, I am dissapointed.. Yeah it did made me laugh at first, but in the long run I just couldn’t stand it.

>_<

To end the popular anime series of our generation, the OVA of Samurai X titled Reflection is a must watch. The approach is somewhat similar from the the anime’s other movie Truth and Betrayal (story of how Kenshin’s past, how he got his scar and everything ).

Unlike the regular TV series, this is more serious and bloody. The story is basically the summary of Kenshin’s long journey after his life as ‘Battousai the slayer’. This consists of fighting villains and meeting friends along the way up to the the time his life peacefully ended. The story and the flashbacks would be mostly from Kaoru’s memories of the time they met up to the time Kenshin died in her lap(oops, sorry!). Kaoru’s love, acceptance and sacrifices for Kenshin showed more visible in this movie and is deeply felt(sniff sniff…). The first part of the movie were flashbacks that present famous scenes and known characters. There are battle scenes that were quite remembered from the TV series but is presented in a better fighting choreography in the movie. The character’s were the same from the tv series except 15 years older and the only new character would be Kenshin’s child, Kenjin. What becomes of them i will not spoil.

The second or the last part show scenes that are not present in the tv series which makes it more interesting to watch. Again, the swordplay was spectacular. It was fast and the energy of every strike of the sword was intensifying. Lastly, it eventually showed how Kenshin’s heroic life gradually ended. Although it was depressing and emotional, I couldn’t think of any other rightful end for this series. At the end all i can do is take a deep breath and give a fulfilling *sigh*, reminiscing how the series that inspired me and sticked to me for all this years finally ended.

If you have finished the whole tv series up to the 90++th episode and question “what the hell happened to Kenshin?” this will fulfill and create a great closure for it.

But If you ever wondered how Battousai got his scar and stopped his murderous ways watch the other movie titled Truth and Betrayal

Don’t fret if you haven’t watched the series (which is very unlikely for an anime fan) it is still understandable but i doubt that you would appreciate the whole movie.

~SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST~

I was searching for a light romantic anime series and School Days, from the title, looked to be the best suspect for it… But boy was I completely wrong!!! Two words: crazy and perverted. I thought that it would only rotate to a love triangle like the normal chick flicks that teenage girls completely love but it is far more than the regular story (no wonder some anime reviewes put horror to the genre). If you haven’t watched this yet don’t continue to read this since I can’t make a review without spilling an idea about the ending.

Anyway, the first episodes was what I expected it to be, it was the usual ‘girl1 like boy but boy like girl2, girl1 helps boy making girl2 like boy then boy1 change his mind and likes girl1 so boy cheats on girl2′ story. But what i percieved transpired fast (only 4/12 episodes i think) and the aggressiveness (of the scenes and the guy) bothered me thats when I realized that there is something more to this. The episode of the school festival was the eventual turning point from the acceptable to the super crazy storyline!!! **This I can’t spoil, it was too much to remember** It was so crazy you can’t stop from watching it up to the end. I can’t help to cover myself with a pillow screaming. It made me drive nuts that the last episode was the best way to end it (except girl2 in the boat– freak out!). Personally, this series stressed me, if the writers made this to make this anime stick on you it was very effective. I can’t say if it will have same effect with men but as a girl, i don’t like being abused so my emotional stability reached its peak. IT IS EVERY GIRL’S NIGHTMARE. Before I watched, I wanted to relax but here i am now still in a transe… I am innocent after all. I have no comment whether people should consider watching this but if you want to try then go forth and good luck! I just hope reality doesn’t go along with the story. Psychologically, i now see majority of men as low and can’t be trusted but I’m still believing that there are men that would consider loving someone more important than the you know what. That is every woman’s wish – to be cared and loved.

Other than that- drawing, sounds is ok.

This series definitely does not promote Female Domination. GRRR….

Fate Stay Night has 24 episodes that is basically about the Holy Grail War. This war happens every 10 years where 7 masters, supposedly a magician but not necessary, summon their servants, a hero from a certain era, in order to battle to survive and eventually able to grant a wish from the Holy Grail. There are 7 types of servants that can be summoned: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Caster, Assassin, Rider and Berserker. Each of them has their own skill and Noble Phantasms (special secret ability). For our main character, Emiya, he acquires Saber who is said to be the best among the servants… Emiya is not a full-magician but has can use tracing sorcery which will greatly help Saber in her battles. While Saber is the female version of King Arthur who desires the Holy Grail to change her past. This not an ordinary chess game of 7 opponents. In fact, Emiya also battles his past on the previous war as well his developed feelings with Saber throughout the battle.

First, I was surprised that the the male main character is not attractive (this somehow ruins the series for me). Next, the storyline is average the twists at the end didn’t give much impact to me but the characters

were interesting considering they were based from real heroes. Although the drawing of the characters were simple the choreography of the fighting scenes and the special effects put to it paid it off big time! But still, the drawing was bothering that i can’t even decipher the emotion of the characters. Plus, there are pauses and unnecessary repetitions(the flashback of 10 yrs is one). The music and voices pretty much reminds of the Playstation game Valkyrie Profile and is more in to the medieval atmosphere. Anyway, the fighting

scenes as i said were excellent and exciting and is actually the best thing about this series. Overall, this is worth watching. This excitement level would be sinusoidal and I just think it would have been a great series if only the male character or the whole cast for that matter were made more artistic. Anyway, after I watched this i started reading about Stories of King Arthur.. what a hangover ^_^

From reading a lot of good comments on this anime and knowing that it was only 13 episodes i’ve figured that i had to give it a try. Elfen Lied as I expected was not your ordinary anime. Not only did it have a thrilling and addictive plot it didn’t hesitate to tear body parts and shower blood on those cute and innocent characters. The energy was there from the very first episode and never degraded up to the very end. I was amused by how much creativity they put on the violent scenes. Also the concept of the vectors were very different from the normal. Don’t get me wrong, the violence wasn’t the entertainment on the series (in fact i didn’t like bodies blowing, or hearts removed or heads cut off!!!) But the fact that they made this just how it would be really like in reality made it a great series. The transition on every episode was well done considering that I can’t help to think ‘OMG, what will happen next???’. The secrets revealed had the right timing although i have suspected of some. Also the last episode (not the bonus episode) was incredible. The different scenes that meant for closure gave me jitters and was heartbreaking. I can’t help feeling for the characters. Although it did leave unanswered questions, maybe it was meant to be a mystery letting the viewers use their imaginations to answer it.It never occured to me that it should have been extended since the story was just right for a number of episodes. Overall the mixture of the characters, the violence, the plot and the sidestories were effective.

As for the bonus episode, which i thought could answer all of my questions only answered a nimble of it. Like how Lucy was ever captured to the research laboratory and why Lucy never tried to kill Kurama. But it never answered what happened next.It was lighter than usual considering the comedy with Lucy and Nana. But as a bonus episode it was really dissapointing.

If you want to escape for the normal Anime. Elfen Lied is the best recommendation. Watch this.

P.S. I can’t help thinking that those in their heads look more like cat ears than horns. oh well…

Arms Alchemy or Busou Renkin is a Japanese anime that was created by Nobuhiro Watsuki, which also created the famous Rurouni Kenshin also known as Samurai X. It can be seen by how it was drawn and the plot that there are really similarities with both of his works. Like to Samurai X, Arms Alchemy is mainly Shounen type with a little bit of everything else: Romance, Comedy, Action, Fantasy. This kinds of anime is not interesting but keeps you surprisingly addicted to it. The main character as usual is a normal kid, named Kazuki, which become the new hero in town who fights evil, the Homunculus, to protect his loved ones and eventually find love in his journey. The difference would be that the varieties of weapons used by the characters were more creative and imaginative and it goes the same with the enemies. It did disappoint many taking into consideration how his previous work was a big hit all over the world including here in the Philippines. Arms Alchemy didn’t even compare with Samurai X hence it ended to only 26 episodes. But for me, both were pretty much the same except that Samurai X has that historical perspective and facts regarding Japan which keeps viewers interested in it. But in fact, Arms Alchemy has an edge when looking at the main female character in the name of Tokiko.

Unlike any other love interest of any male main character of any anime series, Tokiko is a fighter. She is not your regular long haired, needs-to-protect, shy kind of girl (See the scar in her nose???). This makes up for some weakness of the series. And wait until you see her arms alchemy. Multiple blades equipped in her legs!!! That is girl power. This series, i guess, proposes the modern society’s gender equality and hopefully in the future female domination (Bwahahaha…..)

Some drawbacks in the series was definitely the ending. For me, it didn’t give a massive impact considering that it was the end. I felt lost thinking whether it was the climax or that it was going to end.. the last episode was annoying since it prolonged the episode before showing what happened to Kazuki. *Sorry for the spoilers*

Another thing would be the repetitive dialouge of the main character about how he has to protect his love ones, for Tokiko, for his sister and for everybody.. I really got the point from the beginning he said it.. tsk.. tsk..

Basically, this anime is not BIG of an anime but is still worth the time, especially when your craving to escape from reality!!!
