hi! long time no post, I completely forgot I have a blog… haha… It’s the 1st week of June and start of classes was moved to June 16… I have 8 days before this school year starts! But before going into superior acad mode, I have to recall everything that happened during my wild summer experience!

Things I was addicted to:

1. Facebook Apps!

- Restaurant City! i now have a nice big restaurant (I am now in Level 23)…^_^ The game is really really simple but very addictive. Trading ingredients with friends,  I enjoy designing the place and myself, completing the recipes and competing with each other is indeed very addictive

- Pet Society.  This is like a bigger version of tamagotchi… you have a pet that you feed, clean and play with… although everything about pet society looks cute, it’s very hard to obtain money to buy stuff, hence my addiction is set to a minimal amout just so I could maintain an acceptable rank with my friends…

-Know-it-all plus other quizzes in fb. I have answered a number of crazy and educational quizzes in fb! ^__^v

2. MyBrute

- i got a lot of brutes: poporin would be my first and my best brute (now in level 8). baby-rin would be in 2nd…. while the others(pretty_rin, crazy-rin, sebet_95) are sadly ignored… Fight my Brute!!!!!

3. American Idol Season 8

This season must be my most anticipated one in American Idol! I downloaded all the songs of Danny Gokey and Kris Allen and some of Matt Giraud’s. I liked the results since I don’t like Adam’s style of music at all! 

places I went:

1. PI 100 Banahaw Field Trip

- I crossed 3 caves… I jumped 10m high to a body of water… I sat at the roof of the jeepney… I walked a lot… I fell a lot of times too… I had scratches on my legs… I smiled at the cameras… I ate a lot… I slept less than 3 hours… I had fun…

2. Subic Highland

- This is the continuation of the SME camp where me and xinia came along to deploy our first drifter! Kuya Marky, Ate Grace, Ate Tin and Kuya Cris were also there! Although the drifter was not working properly (GPS and GSM module sucked big time!), we still had a lot of fun swimming, eating, and just hanging around the beach and in our room… How i wished i was able to play the swing..

3. Talent Show somewhere in Laguna

- Have no pics here… Enjoyed the show… A lot had amazing talents and I am happy to see them become new members of ERG… there was 40+ new mems!!! As usual, I struggled learning to swim…

4. SM Bowling

- with kat s, mic, manu, jet, aro, and aaron… my 2nd time to bowl(tenpin)… I got a nice score… Thanks Aaron for the treat!!!

5. ABE “where good friends dine”

- Bonding with my empcot buddies…  it’s an expensive Filipino resto with unlimited rice…

6. Somewhere in Alabang

- We had a Graduation Tribute for our co-scholars in YuSung! First time I experience eating many many Korean Food!!! Thanks mr. chung!!! and congrats to kuya gary, ate leian, ate megan, kuya roy, kuya joshua and kuya jason!

7. IECEP sem planning…

- at Roz’s…. I Love the food! Enjoyed it even if I had less than 3 hrs of sleep… go IECEP!!!

8. Somewhere in Katipunan to play RockBand and SM the Block to watch Angels and Demons

- Watched with Xin, Roz, Franz, Kuya Andrew, Kuya Earl, Kuya Robin and kuya PJ… First time to play RockBand… I don’t know the songs they were playing except for paramore but I just went with the flow… 

Some stuff that happened:

1.  Bought a new camera!!!

- a Canon A480 worth 8k inclusing the case, screen protector and memory card… The camera is user friendly and takes nice pics… It’s simple and is just what I need… Thanks alvin for helping me look for a cam!!!

2. Gossip Girl, Chuck and Heroes Finale

- Finished their season… I have nothing to watch anymore!!! I have to wait til August 31 for the GG’s 3rd season!!! waahhh.. one shout for blair and chuck!!!!  ^_^

3. Had a great PI100 class! Sir Siao is really nice… I learned a lot about Rizal… I did a lot of reflecting….I got a 1.25…

4. I watched a movie in the cinema thrice this summer: X-Men, Startrek (both with alvin) and Angels and Demons…. All 3 were great but decreased my money big time…

There you go, I had a crazy summer! That was my last summer as an undergraduate and I feel that I made the most of it… now I have to get ready for the big thing, THESIS year!!! God Bless to me and to my eee-mates!!!

Just yesterday I went to Gilmore with alvin to buy stuff for upgrading alvin’s PC. This was a great opportunity to canvass netbooks since I’ve decided to buy a one during the sembreak. After a long day, I ended up with 2 choices.. well, at first 3, but I had HP mini-note crossed out after I realized that its processor isn’t Intel Atom. Well anyway, back at the dorm I’ve searched for reviews from the net and asked friends for advice. Note: both notebooks have similar specs, 10″, 80Gb HDD, 1G memory, Intel Atom processor, 3 USB ports, wifi, cam…

Here’s what I’ve gathered over-all

Asus EEE PC 1000

-long battery life (stays upto 7 hours)

-better LCD display and speakers

-Not so comfy keyboard

-More expensive(ranging from 25k-27k pesos)

MSI Wind U100

-battery life stays less than 2 hours (This I can’t confirm since reviews say it is just same with eee pc’s battery performance but according from personal experience of a user, it lacks.)

-ergonomic keyboard and touchpad

-cheaper (20k, plus if you buy this September, free upgrade to 160gb hdd!)

The big drawback… this small laptops are advantageous in terms of mobility but Intel Atom is not known for its speed but for it’s battery saving capabilities. If I am to sell my Acer Intel Celeron, 40GB HDD,1G Memory to buy a new one, a real laptop is preferred (Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB Memory, 160GB HDD like Neo Empriva or HP 520). But if i am allowed (by my mom) to have two laptops, one stays at the dorm and one I bring to school, then I would consider buying MSI Wind. Plus I have to buy an external DVD writer that costs 4k.. so the cheaper MSI wind is better…

Due to an unfortunate event that my phone rang during EEE105 class, I was forced to perform by our professor (it was rule set since beginning of the first semester)… It was crazy.. but i knew i can’t escape from it.  So instead of being the scared little girl that  am, I stood up and faced it… I figured that this will go no where if I continue to whine so I did what they wanted,… Besides, I am in good acquaintance (i think.. i hope..) with almost all of my classmates so performing won’t be so embarrassing and will be fully supported. It was just be considered as something fun stress free moment and not a superior humiliation explosion. Good thing I had my talent show[UP ERG] just this summer, so the feeling of presenting was still fresh… So I sang (it was hard singing at first but they started clapping and singing along.. ) they did enjoy it, and yes, I am now labeled as a performer of our batch.. geez.. what a name..  ”Erin at the beginning” that’s what they called it.. but what the hell.. they will forget it eventually… haha…

SEPT 9,2008

I have smiled the most for the past 2 years… I see more reason to live and I absolutely see myself with a purpose. Don’t get me wrong there is no drama in my life.. actually I am thankful of what I have ever since I was a kid.. but the best thing that happened to me was 2 years ago. I can say that  the missing piece of me came (and it was about time it came…:)). This is such cliche stuff but I might as well let everybody know my biggest inspiration—> Alvin. To put it simple (coz writing about him in my not so personal blog is pretty weird), being with him makes me feel floating, bubbly, talkative(too much) and free. He may not see it, but he made my life complete and waaayyyy better. He can be so crazy at times (joker like.. LOL) but is serious when the time is right. I am amazed by his sense of practicality and his thirst for knowledge. I get to learn a lot of great things from him. I must say, he never tried to impress me… he never hesitated to share his own perspective about everything even if I would disagree… and that’s the best thing about him.. his honesty.. I always envied him for that since I am his complete opposite(opposites do attract! )… I always try to impress people causing me to be on the weaker side.. haha.. the truth hurts..But what’s good is he’s pulling me up to his stand… though our personality mismatch causes conflicts, we’re learning from each other… haha.. I’ve open a big part of me in this post.. so I guess I better stop before I spill more corny-whachever stuff!!!

Note: as celebration, we ate at.. shucks.. i forgot the name.. but surely it has the words pepper and steak… well anyway, juicy meat (indeed their specialty) but the drinks and the pasta are a no no… No pictures.. grr…

I’ve told myself just a few days ago that i’m going to blog this day as soon as everything was finished and here I am now. I am so so so happy that I could sit down, relax and get a good night sleep!

12midnight – 1230 – studying EEE53 with alvin in the lobby for the exam later

1230 – 230 – Lonely in my room, studying ee280 , Wireless Comms!!!

230-445 – SLEEPING.. dreaming.. paranoid that i’ll be late…

445 – 530 – Preparation for my 6am exam.. no breakfast (wrong move)

530 – 6 – walk with alvin to EEE

6-9 – EEE 53 exam (in between I felt that I was going to collapse, I was trembling, perspiring… good thing i brought water so I was able to hang on to the exam but it was really difficult )

9-930 – eat breakfast with alvin and jonz.. yummy milo.. )

930 – 1130 – in molave, back to studying for my wireless communications exam!

1130 – 1200 -  walk to EEE alone.. no lunch (wrong move again)

1200 – 200 – EE280 Exam.. Thankfully I predicted the right topics to focus on.. It was great.. although I expected more, i should be really thankful that it wasn’t the grads level of an exam.. yahoo!!!

2-230 – ERG tambayan.. tambay.. got nothing to do.. no money..

230-500 – ECE 141 class..  One last stop for the longest day ever!!! I couldn’t help my groupmates since my head ached again because of hunger but luckily we managed to finish it through

500 – 600 – surfing the net, relaxing, blogging…:)

It really turned out better than I expected.. Maybe I’ve prepared well even though I thought I didn’t.. eee53 was a hopeless case for me, I think more studying wouldn’t help me with the problems so forget about it.. Overall, i somehow feel emotional to see this day finish whatever the outcome of my exams are…:)

I’ve texted my mother a few times this day to tell what happened, and her support was a strength for me… that’s it, time to move on… this is only one day.. I’ve prepared for it the whole week and now it’s done like it was just a dream… amazing how life works..  so after a good rest, i’ll be working again here’s the dates to remember

I must say Inkscape has what I’ve always needed in a software.. plus the video tutorials from heathenex screencasters were very helpful!

since i am still recovering from depression and isregaining my mood to study, i came up with past and present pictures of me and alvin.. this would be entertaining

after a desktop theme for heart’s day, now i’m going for black.. depressing,..I have been having in a bad mood lately probably because of someone insensitive… amph! well that’s what happens when experiencing hell week, people tend to forget and loosen their grip,.. really now,… but i can’t argue i’m always gonna lose.. you try to lose a girlfriend and see how it feels will you?

IRC interview finished smoothly, i stuttered and lost my point most of the time… but i think i delivered well enough..next up is my yical interview.. i hope after this i could decide what to choose..

Just yesterday, me and my roommates(that includes niki..:)) watched Bucket List starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. I must say it’s been awhile since i shed a tear in a movie,.. as far as i remembered, last time i cried because of a movie was when i watched “If Only” (Or is it Innocent steps?, whichever came first.. ) All i can say is wow, there are scenes where i envied them for traveling so much but there are scenes where i don’t want to be in their position (EVER!!!). The movie moved me especially in the ending… It gave me realizations that i have to super live my life to the fullest! I have to travel, take risks and make things happen! haha… i’m so excited to grow up when i have lots of money! yeah! buT of course, we shouldn’t forget to say ‘i love you’ to everyone that touched our lives(i know, cliche, corny.. whatever you call it i don’t care..it’s the ultimate truth not taken seriously..). To anyone who haven’t watched ‘bucket list’, WATCH IT… I have to give it 4.7 stars.. haha! want to watch it again and again!

here’s where i cried so much!!!

Edward Cole: The simplest thing is… I loved him. And I miss him. Carter and I saw the world together. Which is amazing… When you think that only three months ago, we were complete strangers! I hope that it doesn’t sound selfish of me but… the last months of his life were the best months of mine. He saved my life… And he knew it before I did.
